Sensory Room

Our sensory room is designed to help children feel calm, grounded, and ready to engage in their session. With soft lighting, gentle textures, and tools that support self regulation, this space gives children a place to reset when they need it most, both before and during their time with us.

For a child who arrives feeling flooded, restless, or unsure, a few minutes here can change the whole session. Regulating the nervous system first means a child can then meet their therapist with more focus and less overwhelm, and it teaches something lasting: that big feelings can be noticed and soothed. Our clinicians pay close attention to what helps each child settle, so the room is used with intention rather than as a simple time out.

Children's Gym

Our small gym gives children room to move as part of their therapeutic work. Movement based activities support coordination, body awareness, and emotional regulation, and are often woven directly into occupational therapy and other treatment goals rather than kept separate from them.

Climbing, swinging, balancing, and crawling are not just play; they help children organize their bodies, build strength and motor planning, and release energy in a way that makes it easier to focus afterward. Because the gym is right here in our Sherman Oaks center, therapists can move between quiet, focused work and active movement in a single session, following each child's rhythm and keeping progress feeling natural and encouraging.
